Trump acknowledges for first time he's under investigation

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Mueller is also investigating whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey. "Witch Hunt", Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to his May 9 dismissal of James Comey. When The Washington Post reported this week that Mueller was investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, a spokesman for the President's private attorney called the leak "outrageous, inexcusable and illegal".

Special counsel #Robert Mueller has added 13 lawyers to his panel to undertake the Russian Federation probe. Rosenstein, the official who would be responsible for dismissing Mueller, told US lawmakers he would fire him only with good cause.

Mueller continues to hire a team of lawyers, and with FBI investigators is gathering information that is widely expected to lead to a formal investigation into whether President Trump attempted to interfere in the investigation.

The new tweets are the latest in a week of angry social media responses from the president over a report by the Washington Post that Mr Mueller was looking into whether Mr Trump obstructed justice.

"A special counsel investigating the president of the United States must first and foremost be beyond the question of conflict", he said. But he had said last week he felt vindicated by Comey's testimony on June 8 that he was not the subject of investigation while Comey was heading the agency.

According to an AP poll released on Thursday, 60 percent of Americans think Trump tried to interfere in the Russian Federation investigation and 62 percent are extremely or moderately confident that Mueller's investigation can be fair. But later, Trump said in an interview that he would have fired Comey "regardless" of Rosenstein's recommendation.

United States President, Donald Trump, has acknowledged he is under investigation in the inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in past year presidential election held in his country.

"As deputy attorney general, you are more involved in policy making, but in terms of the principles of the department and how we conduct our investigations and who we prosecute, those decisions are going to be made in the same way they have always been made", he said. They are building a case for firing Mueller.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" he asked at one point.

Moscow has denied any interference and the White House has denied any collusion.

However, White House press secretary Sean Spicer denied Ruddy has spoken to the President about the issue.

Trump "believes that he has the power to fire anyone in government he chooses and for any reason", said Representative Adam Schiff, whose committee is also investigating Russia-Trump ties.

Rod Rosenstein probably never expected to be in the spotlight so often while serving in President Donald Trump's administration. And there is no evidence that Mueller recommended to Trump that he fire Comey.

The memo also orders transition team members to preserve any records of foreign travel by transition officials or Trump campaign officials.

That should also catch the freshly en-lawyer-ed Michael Cohen and the peace plan he crafted for Ukraine along with Trump associate and mobster, Felix Sater, and Manafort-friendly Ukrainian politician, Andrii Artemenko.

CBS News also previously reported that when Jared Kushner met with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak in December, Kushner discussed setting up a backchannel for communications between the Trump transition team and Russian officials.
