More Reports 'Confirm' iPhone 8 Event For September 12

Apple iPhone 8 and new Apple Watch 3 could wirelessly charge simultaneously

The new wearable is too young for it to have any predictable pattern for its release, but if it were to debut at the same event, there is a good likelihood it would launch along with the new iPhones, with the same dates for pre-orders and release. Given the fact that all new models will support wireless charging now, Apple needed to squeeze more technology into the handsets. A new Apple Watch, potentially including onboard support for a dedicated cellular connection, is also likely to make an appearance, and we'll nearly certainly hear more about HomePod, Apple's forthcoming smart speaker, which the company revealed in June at its annual developers conference.

Last week, we came across a report that claimed Apple will unveil the iPhone 8 on September 12.

The site Mac4Ever, therefore, considers that the invitations will be sent to the press as of next week.

Since Apple already has an established brand that it uses for the highest-end models in a product lineup, it would make ideal sense to apply it to this year's highest-end iPhone, as well. The official declaration from the company is yet to be confirmed with the press. Apple is hoping a newly redesigned iPhone can spur major demand for its flagship device.

According to a New York Times report, the iPhone 8 may be priced at $999.

At the launch event the tech giant is likely to showcase three new iPhones, including updates to two iPhone 7 models and a premium version to mark the device's 10 anniversary, the Wall Street Journal reported. General consensus is that there will be four options available, three of which are standard (gold, silver, and black). The iPhone 8 is rumored to have two lenses on the back (like the iPhone 7 Plus), although they will be stacked on top of each other vertically. So, customers awaiting the release should grab the opportunity once the sale starts as reports suggest there might be only limited stocks. This means that the screen will use less power and have a higher contrast display.

The iPhone 8 will sport a 5.8-inch OLED display, with virtual buttons that will replace the Home Button. Of course, it goes without saying that the main attraction at Apple's upcoming event will be the highly anticipated iPhone 8, a device which may very well usher in the largest iPhone refresh Apple has ever seen.
