Tottenham's Harry Kane downs Huddersfield with a brace

Carragher compared Lukaku Morata and Kane to Messi and Ronaldo

Kane's first-half double at Huddersfield on Saturday brought his career total to 84 Premier League strikes.

Mauricio Pochettino says he is proud of everyone at the club for getting a good result against Huddersfield after their midweek game in Cyprus.

Former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has suggested that Kane may leave Tottenham if it fails to win a trophy, but Redknapp disagrees. His country loves him.

A poor clearance from goalkeeper Jonas Loessl allowed Kieran Trippier to send Kane through on goal and the England worldwide made no mistake as he stroked home from inside the box. The 21 year-old Colombian centre-back who Spurs signed from Ajax.

Spurs made it 2-0 with Davies passing the ball into an empty net in the 16th minute after a flowing counter-attack. Sure, Huddersfield have only given up three goals in that time frame, but Tottenham are a step above. Still lacking a bit in confidence - several passes went astray - but his first goal for Spurs, scored in injury time, should do wonders for him.

Stoke broke the deadlock five minutes before the break with Mame Biram Diouf heading in a Xherdan Shaqiri corner, but they were unable to add a second two minutes later when Saido Berahino saw a penalty saved by Fraser Forster after Diouf was fouled in the box.

The only blip for Tottenham in Huddersfield was Dele Alli's yellow card for diving.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will regard themselves as viable title candidates, having evidently improved upon the away form that proved to be their downfall last season.

DF Kieran Trippier, 7 - Played a somewhat fortuitous through ball to set up Kane's first goal and was also in control defensively.

It is a nice selection headache, although Serge Aurier is suspended, while Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela remain out, yet Pochettino will expect his team to get another victory.

Do you something awesome to share with the world?

That's the question I'm going to answer in this piece today.

The often influential Alli was the worst player on the pitch as far as Spurs were concerned today with him making poor decisions in the final third and getting involved in indivdual battles that he didn't need to.
