Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL launch

New leaks show off the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, point to staggered release

In addition, Google is also expected to launch two more products from its hardware bank.

Ahead of the unveiling, most details about the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have already been leaked. Looking by the tech firm's first venture to design a smartphone in-house, the next iteration should be a very exciting set of of handsets. To recall, even last year's Pixel phones shipped with VR support. Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL can be picked up with either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage.

- Both Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

A leaked copy of next week's Best Buy newspaper flyer revealed that customers who preorder the Pixel 2 through the retailer will also get a free Google Home Mini. The handset will also come with high end cameras on the front and back. Yet, we expect the price of the Pixel 2 in India to be around Rs 45,000.

9to5Google says Google may also release a "Google Home Max" with stereo speakers, which will be priced closer to the Apple HomePod or Sonos, around $349. There is only a single rear-facing camera, not two like other high-end smartphones released in 2017. However this isn't limited to just the Google Pixel smartphones as the price of nearly all flagship smartphones has shot up this year and continues to rise. Google will be live streaming the event through a dedicated YouTube channel. This laptop is expected to be called the Pixelbook and will be a direct rival to the entry-level MacBooks from Apple. All three of these models will come equipped with that i5 chipset, but it's not clear at this time if there will be any difference in clock speed or RAM count. There are a number of rumors that the stylus pen will retail for around $100 separately. The hybrid tablet, as mentioned by Droid Life, could come with a 360-degree hinge and will run Chrome OS. This year it seems the deal will be for a Google Home Mini. The smaller speaker is likely to be competing with Amazon's newly launched Echo Dot smart speaker.

Another area of focus for Google is in the home, with the Google Assistant and smart speakers.

There have been rumblings (and pictures) of a Google Home Mini for a few weeks now.

The Google Chromebook icon is also visible next to the Android Wear and Android phone icons. With the second generation Pixel devices, Google will look to make a much greater impact than it managed to a year ago. In one slide, the image of a smartphone is captioned "Ultra Pixel".

Another leaked consumer electronic product is the new Daydream VR headset. However, that isn't all the search giant will announce. The company seems to be working on updates to nearly its entire hardware lineup. We will have their official specs and pricing later tonight, so stay tuned.
