`3000 Rohingya Muslims killed in Myanmar's since Aug 25'

The Big Give Rohingya Appeal

Many Bangladeshi men have travelled to the refugee camps since the influx began in hopes of marrying young Rohingya women, according to local media reports.

Cholera thrives in overcrowded, unhygienic conditions and poses a risk for the Rohingya. "I can't take this any more", he told the news agency.

"When we have this kind of situation, there's a heavy possibility of a cholera outbreak". In the past week, however, a new latrine was installed by the United Nations refugee agency.

Bangladesh authorities said, the boat sank near Shah Porir Dwip, on the southern tip of Bangladesh. "Clearly we have to be prepared for more arrivals", he said.

They told AFP the army in Myanmar had prevented them from buying food, making it impossible for them to stay. The two had just crossed the border-defining Naf river, which has been the scene of dozens of drownings in the last two months.

"Think about it: You have over 800,000 refugees in a very small area, over half a million arriving in the last few weeks".

At least 12 Rohingya refugees, majority children, drowned and scores more were missing Monday after their overloaded boat capsized.

Myanmar's military have blamed the unrest on the Rohingya. It's over for us here.

The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), has acknowledged a petition sent to it by a non-governmental organization, Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resource Centre), over the horrifying state and fate of minority Muslims of Rohingya. Their draft joint statement says the bloc "will suspend invitations to the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar/Burma armed forces and other senior military officers".

One Washington-based USA official said Washington hoped to have a plan of action on Myanmar in place by the time President Donald Trump travels to Asia for a series of summits in the first half of November.

"It is the second largest oral vaccination campaign in the world after Haiti in 2016", said Unicef Bangladesh representative Edouard Beigbeder.

Asif Saleh, a senior director with the Bangladeshi relief organization BRAC, said it was targeting installation of 15,000 latrines by October 15 in Rohingya Refugee Camps.

He said some 40 people in the boat were adult Rohingya Muslims fleeing their villages in Rakhine.

The refugee crisis triggered by the persecution of Muslims in Myanmar is set to overshadow all other bilateral issues during the upcoming meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of India and Bangladesh.
