South Africa win rain-curtailed 4th ODI vs India

India vs SA

Yuzvendra Chahal was too expensive he was in this match.

Klaasen and Andile Phehlukwayo finished things off for the Proteas as they forged an unbeaten 33-run stand. This time it was different, though.

The onslaught was started and probably inspired by AB de Villiers when he hit two sixes in an over. De Villiers showcased true masterclass as he took the attack back to opponent's camp in his 26-run off 18 deliveries innings. Kohli also noted how conditions had worked against his team as India scored just 89 in 16.3 overs after the first break of play.

The Proteas then produced a fine bowling performance in the final power play between the 40th and 50th overs that saw just 59 runs conceded. He was operating in the worst-case scenario.

India twice missed opportunities to dismiss David Miller.

"No one really struggled to pick Chahal but he seemed to pick up a lot of the wickets".

Chahal was guilty of bowling another no-ball later in the innings. From the other end, Virat was also doing well.

"We took the decision to bat first because in the evening the ball moves here".

Klaasen said that five-wicket win in the Pink ODI will give his side a massive boost in the series.

"Of course rain had an impact too. Unfortunately it rained, and that made a bit of a difference". "It's normal", said Dhawan. "The captain or the team management may have seen".

If Lendl Simmons benefited from off-spinner R Ashwin and medium-pacer Hardik Pandya overstepping in a thrilling tie at the Wankhede, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was the culprit in the Champions Trophy summit clash at the Oval.

Dhawan put on 158 runs with skipper Virat Kohli (75). The Proteas spent the days in between the defeat at Newlands and the fourth ODI at the Wanderers analysing Yadav's variations, and the homework paid off - although the left-arm spinner picked up another two wickets, he also went at 8.5 runs per over. "But once it rained again, the outfield became wet". These two spinners won three games for us.

Dhawan said, "The captain thought they were taking chances against the spinners".

"It was definitely a momentum changer for us, getting that free hit on David's wicket". Because the wicket was such (good for batting) and the ground was wet so by stopping runs we couldn't have won.

Between them they managed to take just 3 wickets.

"They are young guys".

Opener Shikhar Dhawan said he was elated after scoring a century in the fourth ODI of the ongoing six-match series against South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday (February 10), which was also his 100th worldwide outing for India in the 50-over format. Luck was on his side. He went on to make 39 off 28 balls and changed the momentum.

"I wouldn't say (we have solved the spin riddle)". It is important to go through failures to learn in life. It's just one loss, man. "We know we'll have to be at the top of our game to get another win under our belt and we'll work extremely hard for that", he added.
