MWC 2018: The Nokia 8110 is back, this time in 4G

The new Nokia line-up. HMD also revealed a remake of the Nokia 8110 "banana phone" with 4G connectivity. HMD is even planning to run its own app store.

The new Nokia 8110 4G is set to be available worldwide from May 2018 onwards for 79 euro (about RM380).

The Nokia 1 has been priced at $85 for key markets. It brings a familiar design that will make the Nokia fans nostalgic. It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box.

Along with new Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), There was also launches of new Nokia 1 ( the entry-level smartphone) and Nokia 8110 Classic (a candy bar phone). There is wireless charging too, and dual cameras (12-megapixel plus a 13-megapixel telephoto) too. Notably, the smartphone comes with facial recognition technology.

The new Nokia 8110 is displayed during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain February 25, 2018. "It has a 6" IPS LCD display with 2160 x 1080 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset will be available in two variants, with the base model offering 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory, whereas the more premium version will double on that storage space and ship with 4GB of RAM.

With that said, the main highlight of the Nokia 7 Plus is its dual rear camera setup.

On the front, the phone has a 5 megapixel shooter which also supports wide angle shots. The battery of the Nokia 6 (2018) is 3000 mah in capacity and the camera configurations consist of 16MP on the rear and 8MP on the front (both with F2.0 aperture lens).

Launching in April, the flagship is the Nokia 8 Sirocco: a 7.5mm thin blend of metal and glass loveliness. Nokia 8 Sirocco flaunts a curved edge-to-edge 5.5-inch pOLED 2K display with a 3D Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The handset is said to be built from a single block of stainless steel, providing more durability. Indeed the smartphone looks stunning, and the anodized chamfered edges give an upmarket appeal to the mid-range device. Coming in April at €399 (~£350), it's quite a drop from the Sirocco, and has specifications to match, using the Snapdragon 660 processor, backed with 4GB RAM. With the Dual Sight mode, you can capture everything happening in front and behind the camera at the same time.
