Premier League side want Wenger if he leaves Arsenal

Nothing was ever the same when his partner in crime David Dein was forced out in 2007

Wenger's Arsenal reign hit its lowest point as his side crashed to defeat at Brighton, the first time they have lost four games on the trot in 16 years.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says he would not back down from the challenge of succeeding his mentor Arsene Wenger. But honestly, we have to say that Manchester City have a phenomenal team, especially in their attack. Neither team netted a score in the second frame.

Everton have always been looking for the right manager to take them from a solid mid-table side to a club that can challenge for Champions League football in the Premier League.

The German World Cup victor was out-jumped by Glenn Murray against Brighton for the hosts' decisive second goal and was too easily pushed aside by Sergio Aguero just a few days earlier.

Another Italian, Massimiliano Allegri, has been linked with the position but is unlikely to see the Gunners as a step up from his current role with Italian champions Juventus.

Glenn Murray made it 2-0 in the 26th when his header from Pascal Gross' pinpoint cross squirmed under the diving Cech. Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka ran inside the box during an Arsenal possession and gained control.

New signing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang did score a goal but by then the damage had already been done. The Gunners' newcomer stomped on the offering with his right foot, sending a flick toward Mathew Ryan.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have also lined up former midfielder and Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta as a potential replacement for the under-fire Gunners boss. Welbeck started the season in a relatively fine fashion as he contributed three goals in as many league games, but not much has gone the striker's way since.

They face Milan at the San Siro in the first leg on Thursday.

The Gunners are now 13 points off the Premier League top four with nine fixtures left to play and it is looking increasingly likely they will have to settle for a fifth or sixth place finish this term.

"Overall, I thought we deserved it".

"You focus on your job".

After a brief revival under Big Sam, the Toffees have slipped back into bad form, the 2-1 loss to Burnley on Saturday was their sixth away defeat on the trot.
