Android P Dev Preview One Official & Available To Download

Android folks rejoice as Google brings Lens to all Google Photos users

Google has shared the Android P system image link for Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel and Pixel XL on its developer website.

There's always a chance that Google changes its mind and pushes Android P to the two 2015 Nexus phones, but don't bet on it.

Android 8.0 Oreo is installed on barely 1 percent of Android devices around the globe, but Google is already well along in development of its successor. This time, in Android P Developer Preview, Google has added more colors everywhere; in the quick settings menu, notification panel and the main settings page. We first saw notches on phones like the iPhone X and Essential Phone a year ago and it looks like many Android device makers plan on embracing the notch with their 2018 smartphones, so adding official support in Android P is a smart move by Google.

As expected, Android P brings support for the notch, something that Apple popularized with the iPhone X and is now being widely embraced by Android OEMs.

Google the tech giant has released Android P developer preview for the Pixel lineup of smartphones.

When the Android 9.0 P would be launched later in the current year, it would not be made available for the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Pixel C. This factually marks the end of the Nexus range of phones along with last remaining Android tablet of Google. It is also giving developers access to a multi-camera API, which will enable them to make greater use of dual camera set-ups.

Google itself is calling it a baseline build, meant only to help developers prepare their apps for the full version.

How notifications will appear from messaging apps on Android P with option to display images and suggested replies in notifications shade itself. The first step for the same has now been laid, with Google deciding to roll out Lens for the non-Pixel devices. If we talk about the availability of the new Android P operating system, it will be outed for the devices in the coming August or September month.

New technology, Wi-Fi Round Trip Time will make it easier for mapping apps to log your position indoors by pinging nearby routers. It would release an Android Beta version before unveiling the "final product".

Installation for this first build is limited to those who know how, or are willing to learn, how to manually flash the Android P image.

A timeline shared on the Android Developers site gives us an idea on when future developer previews for Android P will be released.
